Announcing ISPA

ISPA

The International SharePoint Professionals Association, also known as ‘ISPA’, is an independent, not-for-profit, community-driven organization dedicated to support SharePoint professionals and groups all around the world. The primary mission of ISPA is to promote the global adoption of SharePoint Technologies by providing support and guidance to the SharePoint community as a whole - by establishing connections between SharePoint professionals, groups, resources, education and . ISPA is led and supported by volunteers across the world, and will focus on bringing the entire SharePoint community closer together.

ISPA’s first offering to the community is support to user groups around the world through free WSS v3 web sites for any group that becomes ISPA-affiliated. In addition, one of the goals of ISPA is to facilitate an exchange of ideas between user group leaders that helps increase the likelihood of their group’s success. Therefore, ISPA is providing leaders of user groups with access to collaborative spaces where they can interact with other user group leaders, sharing ideas, resources, best practices, guidance, and most importantly - support for one another.

ISPA has also established Regional Evangelists - existing community leaders who have previously exhibited a strong commitment to the promotion of the SharePoint community, and who have pledged to carry the ISPA message throughout their particular region. These evangelists are key local contacts who are available to work with local SharePoint professionals and user groups throughout their region to help promote the community and SharePoint. If you are interested in starting a user group, have an existing one, or need guidance - the ISPA Regional Evangelists are great resources who are available immediately to assist you.

Finally, as everyone knows, no community is complete without a web site, and ISPA is proud to announce the launch of its official site, http://www.sharepointpros.org. While the web site is still in the early stages of development, plans for multilingual support and exciting functionality that will assist anyone involved with SharePoint are on the horizon.

If you have ideas for ISPA, would like to start a user group, or are looking for assistance, visit the new ISPA web site or contact ISPA at contactus@sharepointpros.org. Together, as the community we can achieve what was impossible as individuals - become a part of ISPA today!

SharePoint Training.
From today i started three days course in Implementing Microsoft SharePoint Server
(5061). Although through self-study i came to know about a lot of things but still i want to have proper training so that nothing should be missed and during todays training i came to know that there are few things that i didnt know. besides this i am also reading a book for Wss 3.0 development ( i dont know why .. but i cant keep myself away from coding ..hehehe ).
I finished four chapters of this book (Inside Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0- MS Press). I shall try to finish this book by the end of this week.. inshaallah.

About Me (My First Blog)

Blessings,

When you work you are a flute through whose heart the whispering of the hours turns to music. Which of you would be a reed, dumb and silent, when all else sings together in unison?
(Khalil Jibran)

Although I have been working in the software industry for 5+ years, and banging code since I fell in love with computers way back in my university. Since the early 2000 year, I've devoted my life to two curly bracket of C { } and still i couldnt get out of it.

I started my professional career as Software Engineer with intensive involvement in the area of Software Development, analysis & Design.
Presently, I am working at KOL Corporation(www.Kolcorp.com) as Team Lead/Senior Software Engineer.
Here I have been involved in technology integration (Design, Development and Implementation of web Solutions), continual software process improvement in delivering solutions/products, new product development (Microsoft Technologies) and leading software projects and technical team.
I have an extensive experience of working with Microsoft web technologies, Enterprise Resource Planning(ERP), Content Management Systems(CMS) with the help of .Net Web Applications.

My current skills include experience in database design & development, business application design & development and focusing almost on customized web projects .

I moved to UAE in march 2006 to work with Ajman Chamber of Commerce & Industries, Ajman, for the development of intranet application (an ERP System) which was successfully handed over in December 2006. after that I moved to my current company and it has been more than a year in this company and still i am not tired :)

It has not been long time that I fell in love with SharePoint 2007 putting my heart & soul to cover it all. Thank God i found a marvlous group of techies to work with. So very sooner i will be able to work indepedantly on MOSS 2007 :)

Professional Memberships :
I am an Ex-Student member of ACM Society ( Karachi Chapter ), and presently Member of Arab Computer Society(ACC) & Member of International Association of Software Architects(IASA).

Besides this I am pursuing a Project Management Professioanl(PMP) Course affilated with Project Management Institute, USA.
Will be awarded by the Membership of Project Management Institute(www.pmi.org) by the mid of April 2008. After that I shall try to go for CAPM (Certified Assiciate of Project Management) by PMI.

God willing.....

I am a great fan of Khalil Jibran's saying that :

Progress lies not in enhancing what is, but in advancing toward what will be.

Thanks a lot for your time.
